Limerick General Book Club
A relaxed book club reading a mix of contemporary fiction, classics, and biographies. We meet monthly to discuss the book over coffee or pints, offering a great social outlet for book lovers.
When and where
Limerick General Book Club meets on the first Thursday of each month at 7:30 PM. That is once a month, so it is worth putting in the calendar. It meets at The Commercial Bar, Catherine Street, Limerick City, Co. Limerick.
Times and venues do move, particularly at the start of a new season and around bank holidays, so it is worth confirming the next date with the group before travelling.
What to expect
Limerick General Book Club works the way most book clubs do: a title is agreed in advance, everyone reads it, and the meeting is the discussion. Some months the conversation stays close to the book and some months it does not.
Worth asking what is being read before your first meeting, since clubs often pick the next title a month ahead. Nobody minds if you have not finished it.
Nobody minds if you have not finished the book, and plenty of people turn up having only started it.
Who it suits
Readers who want to talk about what they have read, and who like having something chosen for them.
Going along
