Parkrun in Ireland

All 161 parkrun locations across 32 counties. Every one is free, timed over 5 kilometres, and starts at 9:30am every Saturday.

How parkrun works

Parkrun is a free 5K event that happens at the same place and the same time every Saturday morning. There is no entry fee and no need to book. You register once at parkrun.ie, print or save the barcode you are sent, and that barcode works at any parkrun in the world for life.

You do not have to run. Every event welcomes walkers, and each one has a tail walker whose job is to finish last so that nobody does. Times are recorded when you scan your barcode at the finish, and results are usually online within a couple of hours. Most events head to a nearby cafe afterwards, which for a lot of people is the actual point.

Junior parkrun is a separate 2K event for 4 to 14 year olds, held on Sunday mornings at a smaller number of locations. If you would rather volunteer than run, every event needs marshals, timekeepers and barcode scanners, and volunteering counts towards your milestone shirts the same way running does.

Start times and courses can change for winter conditions or events in the park. Check the official page for your location before travelling: each name below links through to it.
