Dublin Front Runners A.C.
An inclusive, LGBTQ+ friendly running club welcoming runners of all abilities. Group runs are held in Phoenix Park and Irishtown Stadium, with the Saturday morning run followed by a social breakfast.
When and where
Dublin Front Runners A.C. meets every Monday at 7:00 PM. It meets at Phoenix Park (Phoenix Cricket Club / Papal Cross), Dublin City, Co. Dublin.
Times and venues do move, particularly at the start of a new season and around bank holidays, so it is worth confirming the next date with the group before travelling.
What to expect
Dublin Front Runners A.C. caters for a spread of paces rather than a single fast group, which is the usual arrangement in Irish clubs. Sessions are typically split so that people run with others at a similar speed, and there is normally an easier group.
You do not need to be fast to join, and you do not need club kit to try it. Most clubs will let you train a few times before you commit to membership, though anyone racing under the club will need to be registered with the relevant athletics body.
Check with the club which session suits your current pace before your first night, and expect to be asked about recent training so they can point you at the right group.
Who it suits
Runners at any pace who prefer training with other people. Useful whether you are building up to your first 5K or chasing a time.
