When and where
BelfastJS - Web Tech Community meets on the third Wednesday of each month at 6:30 PM. That is once a month, so it is worth putting in the calendar. It meets at Ormeau Baths / Liberty IT, Belfast City, Co. Antrim.
Times and venues do move, particularly at the start of a new season and around bank holidays, so it is worth confirming the next date with the group before travelling.
What to expect
BelfastJS - Web Tech Community follows the shape most Irish tech meetups take: one or two talks of roughly half an hour, then time for food and conversation. Talks range from deep technical material to war stories about shipping something, and the discussion afterwards is usually where the value is.
You do not need to work in the field to attend and you do not need to know anyone. Arriving alone is standard. Meetups like this are typically free, hosted by a company providing the room.
Many tech meetups ask for a free ticket in advance, purely for headcount and building access. That is the one thing worth checking before turning up.
